David Ivy

David moved to Central Texas to attend Texas State University before settling in Austin in 2006 to pursue graduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Lake Jackson on the Texas coast, he was drawn to Austin’s unique balance of opportunity and livability. He appreciates that Austin remains a place where meaningful work gets done without the formality of larger metropolitan areas, while still maintaining a strong sense of community.

Before becoming a full-time real estate professional, David built a foundation in academia, teaching at both The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas at San Antonio. During that time, he also began investing in Austin real estate, making his first purchase in 2012. His background in education and investing continues to shape his approach today, bringing analytical thinking, clear communication, and thoughtful guidance to every client interaction. David became a full-time agent in 2016 and earned his broker’s license in 2022.

David is known for his steady, measured approach and commitment to helping clients make well-informed decisions. He focuses on preparation, clarity, and strategy, ensuring his clients feel confident navigating each step of the process. Outside of work, David enjoys life with his wife, Erin, and their three children, including twin boys. Much of his time is spent with family, but he also enjoys writing music, playing guitar and drums, collecting records, reading, and exploring Austin’s restaurants and live music scene.

What does partnering with a local brokerage mean to you?

Real estate is fundamentally a local business, and I believe the brokerage behind an agent should be deeply connected to the community it serves. Partnering with a locally owned firm like Bramlett Partners means the leadership and strategy are shaped by people who live and work in Central Texas every day. That local perspective allows us to better serve our clients with relevant insights and a more informed approach.

What are some of your favorite local spots?

Honestly, my favorite place is home. After a full day of showings and negotiations, there’s nothing better than sitting around the table with my wife and kids. It’s rarely quiet with three children, but that time together is the most meaningful part of my day.

What causes are you passionate about?

With three kids in local schools, I care deeply about causes that support children and families. I’m especially drawn to organizations that address immediate needs, like food and basic necessities, where the impact can be felt right away. Groups like Communities In Schools of Central Texas and the Central Texas Food Bank do incredible work supporting students and families across our community.
