David Ivy

David moved to Central Texas to attend Texas State University before settling in Austin in 2006 to pursue graduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Lake Jackson on the Texas coast, he was drawn to Austin’s unique balance of opportunity and livability. He appreciates that Austin remains a place where meaningful work gets done without the formality of larger metropolitan areas, while still maintaining a strong sense of community.

Before becoming a full-time real estate professional, David built a foundation in academia, teaching at both The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas at San Antonio. During that time, he also began investing in Austin real estate, making his first purchase in 2012. His background in education and investing continues to shape his approach today, bringing analytical thinking, clear communication, and thoughtful guidance to every client interaction. David became a full-time agent in 2016 and earned his broker’s license in 2022.

David is known for his steady, measured approach and commitment to helping clients make well-informed decisions. He focuses on preparation, clarity, and strategy, ensuring his clients feel confident navigating each step of the process. Outside of work, David enjoys life with his wife, Erin, and their three children, including twin boys. Much of his time is spent with family, but he also enjoys writing music, playing guitar and drums, collecting records, reading, and exploring Austin’s restaurants and live music scene.

Why is it important to you to partner with a local brokerage?

Real estate is fundamentally a local business, and I believe the brokerage behind an agent should be deeply rooted in the community it serves. Partnering with a locally owned firm like Bramlett Partners means leadership, strategy, and innovation are driven by people who live and work in the Central Texas market every day.

What’s your favorite local spot and why?

Honestly, my favorite local spot is home. After days spent showing property, negotiating contracts, and working through transactions, the best place to be is around the table with my wife and kids. With three kids, it’s rarely quiet, but it’s the best part of the day.

Is there a local cause that is important to you and why?

With three kids in local schools, I’m especially interested in causes that help children with immediate needs. When a child is hungry or lacks basic necessities, the solution can often be simple and the impact is immediate. Organizations like Communities In Schools of Central Texas and the Central Texas Food Bank do great work supporting students and families across our community.
