Carol grew up in Abilene, Texas, before attending the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a BA in Education. After UT graduation, she and her husband Steve spent a few years on the east coast before returned to Austin, a city they’ve proudly called home ever since. Before beginning her real estate career, Carol spent many years teaching young children, an experience that strengthened her communication skills, empathy, and ability to connect with people from all backgrounds. Her extensive community volunteer work also gave her a deep understanding of Austin’s needs and a foundation in leadership.
Carol’s transition into real estate began when her sons reached middle and high school. Through a Junior League course that highlighted the value and skills of her volunteer experiences, she was encouraged to explore the profession, advice that proved life-changing. Since earning her both her sales and broker licenses, Carol has built a thriving career spanning many years. She has managed two offices, served as a trainer, mentored numerous agents, and consistently delivered exceptional service as a Realtor. Most of her clients come from personal referrals and repeat clients, forming ongoing friendships. Her deep neighborhood knowledge and attentive follow-up and sensitivity to her clients’ needs have made her a trusted and respected professional. When helping her clients, she believes that it is important that she gets to know her clients so that she can help them find the right neighborhood for them to live in.
Carol and her husband Steve, who is now retired from his insurance business, is ranching in Comanche County. They have two adult sons: Mark, who is working with her as her business partner in real estate since 2020, and Kevin, who owns his independent insurance agency, Sentry Agency Texas. They also have three beloved grandchildren who keep the family busy. The family enjoys gatherings at the family ranch. Outside of work, Carol enjoys reading, gardening, volunteering, participating in her cooking and book clubs with the Austin Junior League, traveling internationally and in the US, and spending time at the family’s Strickland Ranch.
