Mardee Calkins

Growing up on a farm in East Texas surrounded by animals, Mardee developed an early love for nature, creativity, and craftsmanship. She first visited Wimberley at 13 and instantly knew it was where she wanted to live. True to her word, she made it home at 28 and has been deeply rooted in the Hill Country ever since.

Before launching her real estate career in 2003, Mardee built a diverse professional foundation as an architectural designer, general contractor, and master Pilates teacher and trainer for more than 30 years. Her design expertise and eye for detail—paired with her experience building award-winning spaces—give her a unique perspective on the homes she helps clients buy and sell. Mardee’s deep understanding of architecture, finishes, and construction, along with her trusted network of skilled contractors, ensures her clients receive unmatched insight and guidance.

At home, Mardee enjoys life with her husband, Bruce, who founded the beloved Cypress Creek Café in Wimberley. Together, they have three children: Alex, an attorney; Travis, a commercial construction project manager; and James, a Texas A&M student studying real estate and finance. When she’s not with clients, Mardee loves spending time with her family, relaxing outdoors, working out, and playing with her dogs.

Why is it important to you to partner with a local brokerage?

I like knowing who I’m working with and being part of a brokerage that values culture, collaboration, and community. Partnering with a local team like Bramlett Partners means working alongside people who truly understand and care about our market and our clients.

What’s your favorite local spot and why?

Creekhouse in Wimberley is one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Hill Country. It’s a great spot to unwind and connect with friends while soaking up everything that makes this town special.

Is there a local cause that is important to you and why?

I’m passionate about supporting local organizations that strengthen our community, including the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, the Wimberley Civic Club, the Barnabas Connection, and CASA. Each plays an important role in caring for our neighbors and building a stronger, more connected Wimberley.
