Nathan Bartels grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, attended college in Colorado, and later spent 15 years on California’s Central Coast. He was drawn to Austin by its welcoming people, hospitality, and wholesome approach to living. With a lifelong passion for real estate, architecture, and city design, Nathan brings a broad perspective on what makes a community a great place to call home.
Before entering real estate full time in 2026, Nathan raced bicycles professionally as a person with Type 1 Diabetes and later worked in outdoor sales, partnering with independent mountain and outdoor shops. Racing taught him how to turn adversity into opportunity, while his work with local outdoor businesses deepened his appreciation for the communities, restaurants, parks, and gathering places that make a city special. Nathan brings that same perspective to real estate, helping clients look beyond a property to find the neighborhoods and streets that best fit their needs and interests. His passion, genuine care for his clients, and stress-is-enhancing mindset guide his approach to every transaction.
Nathan lives in Austin with his wife, Emily, their two sons, Eli and Sebastian, and their orange tabby cat. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, surfing, having coffee with friends, and traveling with his family. He also loves taking advantage of Austin’s remarkable access to outdoor recreation, from cycling and running to rock climbing and exploring the Hill Country.
