Zoe Wafelbakker

Originally from New Zealand, Zoe's journey since 2002 has taken her across the globe, before finally settling in Austin in 2014. With a rich and varied career spanning shipping, supply chain management, and project analysis in the insurance and banking sectors, Zoe brings a wealth of expertise to her real estate practice. Above all, she values communication—a skill honed across her professional endeavors and one she believes is fundamental to being an exceptional agent.

Zoe began her real estate career in 2016, inspired by her own experiences as a homebuyer and a desire to advocate for others. She prides herself on setting clear expectations, tackling challenges head-on, and maintaining open and honest communication throughout every transaction. Her motto, “Bad news doesn’t age well,” reflects her proactive and solution-oriented approach, ensuring clients always feel informed and empowered.

Now living in South Austin with her husband, Mark, and their three children, Zoe has fully embraced the city’s vibrant culture, outdoor lifestyle, and close-knit community. When she’s not guiding clients to success, you’ll find her training for triathlons, enjoying family hikes, or cycling through Austin’s scenic trails. For Zoe and her family, Austin isn’t just a place to live—it’s home.

Why is it important to you to partner with a local brokerage?

After working with two national brokerages, I made the conscious decision to join a local brokerage in 2023 when the market was changing. It was important to me that my clients received hyper-local insights and expertise. Eric’s data-driven approach to the Austin market had always impressed me, and I wanted to learn from him and provide that same value to my clients.

What is your favorite local spot and why?

Casa De Luz is my current favorite spot. I adore the food, the concept, and the sense of community it fosters. Whether I’m there with my family or enjoying a peaceful solo visit, it’s the perfect place to nourish both body and soul. I also love that the menu is set daily—no decisions needed, just wholesome, delicious food in a serene environment.

Is there a local cause that is important to you?

LifeWorks is a cause close to my heart. Austin, like many cities, faces challenges with homelessness, and LifeWorks focuses on addressing this issue at its root—youth and young adults. By advocating for over 4,000 youth and families each year, they create real, lasting change in our community.
