How to Quickly Get an IRS Tax Transcript

The IRS can sometimes be very slow in providing tax lien payoffs. Here is a hack that may help expedite the payoff information.

Call the IRS at 800-829-1040

1. Press 1 for English
2. Press 2 for Personal Income Tax
3. Press 1 for Form, Tax history or Payment
4. Press 3 for all other questions
5. Press 2 for all other questions
6. When it asks to enter SSN or EIN, DON’T do anything.  It will ask twice before sending you to another menu
7. Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions
8. Don’t press another prompt.  Just wait for it to transfer you.
9. It should transfer you to a HUMAN.
